Our 1, 2 and 3, Bedroom Cabins sleep from 2 to 10 people per cabin, they are placed singly or in pairs over 60 acres of quiet natural bushland. The local country town of Briagolong is an easy fifteen-minute drive from Wombat Valley where the local pub offers excellent meals every night. Supplies of fuel, food and other needs can be obtained at the general store* and garage. Set in natural bush setting...
At Wombat Valley you stay in early settlers style cabins, built in the drop log fashion of the early - 1900’s. Each cabin has a large open log fireplace built from local stone, which will provide ample warmth on the coldest winter nights. The kitchen is well equipped with all your crockery cutlery and cooking equipment you will need, large gas fridge, woodfire stoves that will cook the best roasts, for that quick cuppa in the morning gas cooktops and for that nice steak outdoor gas BBQs. There is instant gas hot water in the shower and indoor toilet. Gas lighting in each room also adds to the rustic atmosphere. Location... Wombat Valley is approximately a three-hour drive east of Melbourne and backs onto the Lower Dargo State Forest, which is the back door to where the ‘Man From Snowy River” movies were filmed. Although Wombat Valley is surrounded by natural bush, access is easily reached by conventional vehicles. Your pets are welcome too. Wombat Valley is close to Sale, Stratford, Maffra. The property is owned by Ken & Donnella Faulks who will be your host and guide. Your dogs are welcome! We can also cater for the horse enthusiast - large horse yard available. *eftpos is not available at the cabins but is available at the general store. |
